Side Effects
The following side effects have been reported in conjunction with the use of Allegra: dysmenorrheal, headache, drowsiness, back pain, cough, upper respiratory tract infection, pyrexia, otitis media, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, pain in extremity, fatigue and rhinorrhea.
Precautions
Patients who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredient of Allegra should not take this medication. Allegra is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women due to the unknown risk to the baby. Allegra should only be used by pregnant women if the benefit outweighs the potential risk. Allegra should not be consumed with fruit juices due it lessens the effectiveness of the medication. Special care should be used for patients with decreased renal function whether mild, moderate or severe impairment. Dosages of Allegra should be decreased according to the directions. Additionally, elderly patients should take care in dosage selection due to their decreased renal function.
